Kimberley Timpf has more than 25 years of experience in the college alcohol and other drug prevention field. Prior to EVERFI, she worked at both public and private institutions and served multiple terms as the directorate chair for ACPA's Commission for Alcohol and Other Drug Issues. In her current role, Ms. Timpf helps inform the development of EVERFI's AOD-related content and course offerings. Daniel Eisenberg is a Professor of Health Policy and Management in the Fielding School of Public Health at the University of California, Los Angeles. Previously he was a faculty member at University of Michigan from 2004-2020. His training is in economics (BA and PhD, Stanford University) and mental health services research (NIMH postdoc, UC Berkeley). His broad research goal is to improve understanding of how to invest effectively in the mental health of young people. Dr. Shawnté Elbert is an accomplished leader and student affairs administrator with a depth and breadth of experience in college student health and wellness, including harm reduction, prevention and risk management. Dr. Elbert has a strong background in policy review and development, health and wellness compliance and public health theory and practice. A strong advocate for historically marginalized and minoritized students, Dr. Elbert has vast expertise in the areas of public health administration and education, wellness, peer education and leadership development. She serves on the Board of Directors for American College Health Association and as an Aspire Mentor. Dr. Angela E. Batista is a passionate certified Executive and Design Coach, author, speaker, and diversity, equity and inclusion strategist. She is the Founder and CEO of Batista Consulting Services, LLC and the 2020-21 NASPA (Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education) Board Chair. She is also the lead editor of the 2018 publication, Latinx/a/os in Higher Education: Exploring Identity, Pathways, and Success.
With nearly thirty years of leadership and professional experience, Angela is the former Vice President of Student Affairs and Institutional Diversity and Inclusion at Champlain College. She has worked in K-12 and higher education institutions across the United States and also held senior-level positions at Oregon State University, the University of Southern Indiana and Mills College. She also worked at the University of Vermont and Lynn University. Angela is a former Marriage and Family Therapist and an experienced high school teacher, counselor and administrator.
In addition to being an award-winning teacher and higher education leader, Angela is recognized as an expert, both nationally and internationally, and has received multiple awards. In 2020, she was named as a NASPA Pillar of the Profession and has received several other honors and awards, including the 2017 NASPA Latinx/a/o Knowledge Community (LKC) Service Award and the 2013 NASPA LKC Administrator of the Year Award. The University of Vermont established the Angela Batista Social Justice Award, awarded to an undergraduate student every year, in 1999.
Angela earned her doctorate in Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and her master's degree from the University of Vermont. Her undergraduate work was completed at Brooklyn College in New York City. Ha Nguyen has worked within WA State's community and technical college system for 18+years and was recently appointed to serve as the inaugural Director of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion with the WA State Board for Community & Technical Colleges. She is a founding member and co-chair of the agency's first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee and serves as a member of WA State's DEI Council and Racial Equity Team. Suzanne Taylor is the Systemwide Title IX Director for the University of California. She was previously a Civil Rights Attorney with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, where she investigated complex civil rights allegations, including institution-wide sexual violence complaints. She first joined UC in 2016 as a Title IX Principal Investigator in the Office of the President and, in that role, conducted investigations on campuses throughout UC. As Director, Suzanne provides direction and support for the campus Title IX offices.
