On August 8, 1907, the first professional engineering license was issued to Charles Bellamy in Wyoming. Since that time, licensure has expanded, and professional engineers across the U.S. have made firm commitments to lifelong learning and continuous improvement, as engineers must regularly meet requirements defined by states to maintain their licenses.
Our world’s infrastructure — roads, buildings, bridges and beyond — begins with extraordinary engineering minds. Simply put, engineers shape our lives, mold our future and keep us safer. And for that, the National Society of Professional Engineers, or NSPE, is celebrating licensed professional engineers with its annual “Professional Engineers Day” on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. In honor of the occasion, RedVector is awarding one engineer a $100 Amazon gift card as a small token of thanks.
You can also join NSPE in raising awareness about what it means to be a PE, recognizing licensed PEs, and showing appreciation for the work they do each and every day.
