Generating a DOT accident log

Resources

Organizations that utilize commercial vehicle fleets are mandated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to keep an accident register for a minimum of three years after each incident. Vehicle accidents should be included on the register if the accident involves disabling vehicle damage, injury, or death.

Within the accident register, you must include: the driver's name, the date of the accident, the location, and state where it occurred, the number of injuries and fatalities, and if hazardous materials were released.

At Vector Solutions, our safety management software can help you easily generate the DOT accident register. Your workforce can enter all types of incidents into Vector EHS Management and then you can automatically create a report of applicable DOT reportable incidents.

For more information about how Vector EHS software can assist you in your DOT accident register and incident tracking, visit our website or contact us today for more information.
