In recognition of this year’s National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week (NPSTW), from April 11-17, Vector Solutions would like to honor and thank all first responder telecommunicators for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to their very important role. We understand how critical of a component public safety telecommunicators are to our protective services, along with police, sheriffs, firefighters, medics, and all those who work to keep our communities safe—and we thank you.
Every year, during the second week of April, APCO's National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week recognizes first responder telecommunicators as an essential component of protective services. The concept for Telecommunicators Week originated in 1981 by Patricia Anderson of the Contra Costa County (CA) Sheriff's Office to recognize the difficult, sensitive, and demanding work dispatchers face every day. In 1991, the once local celebration became nationally recognized when President Bill Clinton designated the second full week in April as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
This year’s NPSTW will honor telecommunications personnel in the public safety community for their selfless dedication to making a better and safer world for us all. Submit your entries in this year’s contents, "Who is YOUR Public Safety Superhero?" to recognize the public safety telecommunicator superheroes in your life. Go to NPSTW.org to submit your nominations and cast your votes by the deadline on April 19, 2021 at 9 a.m. ET.
Thank you, again, to all public safety telecommunicators for dedicating your lives to public service. You are all superheroes to Vector Solutions.
