The Customer

Gannon University is a private Catholic university located in Erie, Pennsylvania. Gannon has a total enrollment of nearly 4,500 students.

The Situation

As Gannon reopened amid the COVID-19 health crisis, they implemented many new health and safety regulations to prevent the spread of illness, including the usage of masks or other face coverings. As students returned to campus, some noticed that their peers weren’t always wearing their masks in public spaces. Other students were concerned that their professors weren’t following appropriate mask-wearing policies in class. These behaviors put the campus community at risk for illness spread.

The Result

Gannon students submitted tips, anonymously if they desired, using the Vector LiveSafe Mobile App. Vector LiveSafe enabled them to share their concerns as well as pertinent details about improper mask usage, such as location information or accompanying images or videos.

The Solution

University security became aware of mask-wearing violations or misunderstandings and were able to address these problems. This improved understanding of mask-wearing expectations and benefits and increased the health and safety of the campus.

“Without [the Vector LiveSafe] app we would not be operational today.”

- Jon Habursky

Assistant Director, Police and Safety at Gannon University
