Gannon University: Social Distancing Violations

The Customer

Gannon University is a private Catholic university located in Erie, Pennsylvania. Gannon has a total enrollment of nearly 4,500 students.

The Situation

After returning to campus during the COVID-19 pandemic, Gannon students were informed
of social distancing policies and told that large gatherings were prohibited. However, several students witnessed parties and other social events taking place. Others heard about groups of students leaving campus for large gatherings or saw posts about parties on social media. These students were unsure how to interfere but recognized that this behavior put the health of the community at risk.

The Solution

These students submitted tips, some anonymous, using the Vector LiveSafe Mobile App. The students shared pertinent information such as the location of the gatherings, the amount of attendees, and identifying information of some of the students involved.

The Result

University officials were made aware of social gathering violations and were able to take appropriate action to address them. This aided in maintaining campus health and safety.
