The Situation

A university student found themselves in a car with an intoxicated driver. The student recognized the situation as dangerous but wasn’t sure how to get out of the car and did not feel comfortable calling someone for help while others were in the car.

The Solution

The student used the Vector LiveSafe Mobile App to engage in two-way communication with local police and discretely provided them with updates on the car’s location.

The Result

Police located the drunk driver and were able to safely pull them over before they caused harm to themselves or others.

"According to a study published by the National Institutes of Health, researchers estimate that each year, 1,519 college students between the ages of 18 and 24 die from unintentional alcohol-related injuries, including motor-vehicle crashes."
