This session explores how Dr. Dax Boatwright transformed his approach to conduct education by developing Know the Code: Respect and Accountability for Success, an interactive experience built to operationalize the philosophy of the Student Code of Conduct.
Using the program as a case study, participants will trace how a faculty partnership grew into an institution-wide innovation grounded in constructivist learning and instructional scaffolding, one that produced measurable gains in conduct literacy, policy application, and student confidence. Attendees will follow the full development process, from identifying an educational opportunity to assessing outcomes and extending learning through the responsible integration of AI.
The session shows how authentic scenarios, guided reflection, and AI-supported learning help students move beyond simply knowing policies toward conduct literacy, the ability to recognize, interpret, and apply behavioral expectations in real-world situations.

Dr. Dax Boatwright serves as the Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution at Florida Atlantic University, where he designs evidence-informed educational programs that integrate instructional design, conflict management, and artificial intelligence to enhance student learning. He developed the Holistic Conflict Management Framework (HCMF), a peer-reviewed educational model recognized with the 2026 ASCA Innovation Award, and has created several AI-supported learning tools, including the Student Policy Navigator, to extend student learning beyond traditional educational interventions. His work has been published in the Journal of Appreciative Education and presented at national conferences on student conduct, campus safety, and educational innovation. Through his scholarship and practice, Dr. Boatwright focuses on transforming conduct education from a compliance-based process into an interactive learning experience that promotes critical thinking, personal responsibility, and student development.
