CA Local Agency Ethics (AB1234)
This online training meets the requirements of California Assembly Bill 1234 for Local Agency Officials. This course provides a brief overview of laws relating to personal financial gain by public servants, claiming prerequisites of office, government transparency, and fair government processes. Specifically covered are the Political Reform Act, the Brown Act, and the Public Records Act, and several other laws which govern the behaviors and practices of public servants. The primary goal of this course is to expose you to California ethics laws and allow you to identify potential conflict-of-interest situations. Once you identify a potential or actual conflict of interest, you should consult with your agency’s legal counsel or other resources, which we will identify at the conclusion of this course. 2025 update includes the requirements of AB2158 & SB1439. The course meets all requirements of California Government Code 53234.
