Grey Area Calls
This unique course is geared to paramedics and advanced level EMS providers. It delves into what can be described as fuzzy, blurry, or grey areas that comprise modern fire rescue and EMS medical calls for service. When EMTs and paramedics are trained, the latest textbooks and simulators are used to create a vivid backdrop that is intended to resemble how an actual patient presents to rescuers in the field. This training focuses on the patients vital signs, symptoms, and complaints, given a literal textbook rendition of each malady. However, the patients that 9-1-1 responds to have not studied these same textbooks. Often, their complaints and symptoms can be far less clear than the textbook version. This course will address grey area concepts in many medical, trauma, and psychiatric patient subsets.
