Pest Management: Effective Practices for Schools
Pest management is the practice of minimizing, preventing, and eradicating pests. Pests in a food processing facility include many animals, such as rats, mice, birds, spiders, and insects, that can contaminate or degrade the food products produced. Every food processing facility should have a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point Plan, or HACCP Plan, that includes a section on pest management. There are many different approaches to pest control, but the one widely recognized as the best is called Integrated Pest Management, or IPM. This introductory pest control training course will help you understand the basics of pest management in a food processing facility. In this course, you will learn about common pests you may encounter in and around the plant. You will learn Integrated Pest Management (IPM), pest prevention and control tactics, and how to help control pests in your facility.
