Michael C. Loulakis is a senior shareholder in the construction law firm of Wickwire Gavin, P.C. where he represents domestic and international clients on construction-related matters. His extensive and diverse background in the design-build process allows him to provide comprehensive legal representation to clients on design-build projects around the world, including advising owners on project delivery systems, contract drafting, claims administration, and dispute resolution. Mr. Loulakis has extensive experience on international design-build and EPC projects, particularly in the power generation and telecommunications sectors. He has been lead counsel on projects in Pakistan, India, Guatemala, Mexico, as well as Europe, the Middle East, Nigeria and South Africa. Mr. Loulakis' background in the design-build process has also allowed him to represent clients on design-build projects around the world and in the power, telecommunications, health care, public facility, and transportation sectors of the construction industry. His role on these projects ranges from advising owners about project delivery systems to contract drafting, claims administration, and dispute resolution. Mr. Loulakis also provides strategic planning advice to contractors and design professionals who are interested in participating in the design-build contracting arena. He is a national speaker on design-build and the author of numerous publications, including a highly acclaimed interactive CD-ROM program entitled Construction Project Delivery Systems: Evaluating the Owner's Alternatives. A member of the DBIA's Board of Directors and former Chairman of DBIA's Manual of Practice Subcommittee, Mr. Loulakis had principal responsibility for drafting DBIA's Design-Build Contracting Guide and its family of contract documents. He graduated with honors from Tufts University with a degree in civil engineering and received a Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law.
