Besides conducting training, consulting, and information programs throughout the country, Dr. Watson has authored numerous articles, videos, and books, including The School as a Safe Haven, which examines school safety from a historical perspective. Dr. Watson was a teacher and administrator for over 25 years, serving eight years as a school superintendent. His first book, Containing Crisis (a school safety planning book), was based on his experience from the 1988 school shooting in Greenwood, SC, where he was then superintendent of schools.
