James Vaughan

Author

James Vaughan is president of Today's Resources, Inc., a full-service safety and health consulting firm. He has more than 30 years of direct OSHA compliance and loss-control experience and holds a BS in Industrial Technology from Eastern Kentucky University.

Karl Sommer III

Author

Karl Sommer III has more than 14 years of safety experience, including acting as executive director of the Columbus (OH) Chamber of Commerce Safety Council and the National Safety Council Central Ohio Chapter. His responsibilities included the coordination/presentation of numerous training courses and the Columbus Chamber of Commerce Workers' Compensation group rating program. Karl holds an MS in Safety and Health Management from West Virginia University.

Joanette Lima

Joanette Lima, PT, MS, CPE, has worked with a variety of industries to develop and implement effective strategies for ergonomic risk reduction and injury prevention, including workplace design, furniture and equipment selection, and management and employee training. She has been a certified professional ergonomist since 1996, holds a BS in Physical Therapy and earned an MS in Exercise Science. In addition to her consulting work, she teaches ergonomics at the university level. She is affiliated with the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, the American Society of Safety Engineers and the American Physical Therapy Association.
