Empowering Substitute Teachers with Research-Based Training, Now Seamlessly Integrated into Vector’s Award-Winning Platform

September 10, 2025 — Vector Solutions, the leading provider of training and software solutions to help schools make their operations and communities safer, smarter, and better, is excited to announce a new exclusive partnership with STEDI.org, the nation’s foremost provider of substitute teacher training. For the first time, K-12 schools and districts can access STEDI.org’s SavvySub training courses directly through the award-winning Vector Training System – offering a streamlined, scalable solution to ensure substitute teachers are confident and classroom-ready.

Founded as the Substitute Teaching Institute at Utah State University in 1995, STEDI.org has spent the past 30 years developing research-based training materials that improve student outcomes during teacher absences. Its research shows that substitutes equipped with even basic classroom management and professionalism skills dramatically improve learning continuity. Today, STEDI.org serves more than 1,400 K-12 public school districts across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Starting immediately, districts using the K-12 Vector Training System can add a custom package of online courses for post-employment substitute teachers, created by STEDI.org. These courses—covering classroom management, following lesson plans, professionalism, and legal responsibilities —are delivered exclusively through Vector’s platform and include assessments to ensure substitutes are prepared and confident in the classroom.

“Districts have long relied on STEDI.org to support substitute teachers—and this partnership lets us meet schools where they already are,” said Jessica Smith, Lead Education Officer at STEDI.org.

“With Vector Solutions, we can deliver essential classroom-readiness training through a trusted platform they’re already using.”

The partnership is exclusive: STEDI.org’s new content package is only available through the Vector Training System.

“Districts trust Vector to deliver high-quality, professional development content,” said Tim Hager, VP Partnerships at Vector Solutions. “We’re thrilled to partner with STEDI.org, the gold standard in substitute teacher training, to help our schools and their students thrive, even when the regular teacher is away. With Vector’s centralized platform, district and school administrators can streamline and consolidate professional development for all teachers and staff, complete with powerful training management tools and robust data reporting, making it easier than ever to ensure consistent, impactful learning across the entire organization.”

On Thursday, September 18 at 2:00 PM ET, Vector and STEDI.org will hold a webinar where they will explore data-driven insights and proven strategies for elevating the substitute teaching experience. To register, click here.
