Vector LiveSafe panic alarm functionality can be used during critical safety and security events by students, faculty and staff workers to request help wherever they are
Tampa, FL – August 18, 2022 – Vector LiveSafe, from Vector Solutions, has won a 2022 Spaces4Learning New Product Award for its silent panic alarm feature. Vector LiveSafe earned a platinum award – the highest possible – in the higher education category of “Safety & Security – Emergency Communication.”
"Campus safety requires getting the right information and tools into the right hands at the right time," said Vector Solutions Head of Product for Education Rob Buelow. "Providing students, faculty, and staff with quick and easy ways to alert authorities in an emergency is central to our LiveSafe technology and an important part of our approach to preventing harm. We are honored by this Spaces4Learning New Product Award."
The Spaces4Learning New Product Award program honors the outstanding product development achievements of manufacturers and suppliers whose products or services are considered to be particularly noteworthy in their ability to enhance the learning environment. Vector Solutions is the leading provider of training and software solutions to help K-12 and higher education institutions make their operations and communities safer, smarter, and better. LiveSafe was originally created by one of the survivors of the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting. It is a powerful safety communications platform and mobile app that allows emergencies and other safety concerns to be reported anytime, anywhere. The Vector LiveSafe silent panic alarm, added in May 2021, helps in situations where there is an immediate emergency by allowing students and faculty to use the app to report emergencies directly to law enforcement. It provides the user’s location without them having to say or type anything. The panic alarm also helps elementary and secondary schools meet the recommendations in Alyssa’s Law, named after Alyssa Alhadeff, one of the 17 victims killed during the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The law requires schools to implement mobile panic alarms that go directly to law enforcement in case of immediate emergencies such as an active shooter situation.
This is the latest higher education award win for Vector LiveSafe. The platform also earned platinum in the 2021 Campus Technology New Product Awards in the Anonymous Reporting Tool category.
