Webinar Description

Thursday, November 12, at 2:00 PM (ET) | 11:00 AM (PT)

Gambling, both legal and illegal, is increasingly common in the United States and around the world, and college students gamble at higher rates than the general population. Yet relatively few institutions are aware of, or prepared for, how widespread college gambling has become or the problems that come with it. Those problems can involve students, staff, or faculty who gamble, as well as members of the public who bet on college sports. This interactive session examines the prevalence and risks of gambling on campus and offers practical guidance for strengthening institutional policy and practice.

College and university leaders will leave with a clear understanding of how today’s gambling landscape fits within historical patterns in the United States, the common forms gambling takes, and the risks it poses to campus community members and student-athletes. They will also leave with practical steps for assessing gambling issues on their own campus.
