Fairfield University is a private Jesuit University located in Fairfield, Connecticut. Fairfield has a total enrollment of 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
The Situation
Around 1:30 a.m. on a Friday night, an undergraduate Fairfield University student smelled natural gas in their residence hall. The student was concerned there might be a gas leak and wanted the situation to be investigated.
The Solution
The student submitted a tip through the Vector LiveSafe Mobile App, alerting university officials about the suspected gas leak and providing relevant information.
The Result
Fairfield University officials received the tip and notified the gas company. The gas company quickly identified the source of the problem and resolved the issue. This prevented a potentially dangerous leak and maintained student health and safety.
