The Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) has issued new regulations that require more stringent requirements regarding driver training. These new regulations are referred to as MAP 21 (Moving Ahead for Progress 2021), and apply to all locations who train school bus drivers who require a Class A or Class B CDL License. These MAP-21 driver training requirements were to apply to all new trainees after February 7, 2020. However, FMCSA has postponed the compliance date to February 7th, 2022. These regulations do not apply to existing drivers, only new trainees.
