Vector Solutions, the leading provider of software solutions designed to optimize operational readiness, workforce management, and risk mitigation for critical industries, was recognized on the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s annual Fast 50 list. The sought-after Fast 50 ranks privately held companies based on their percentage of growth in annual revenue for the boast three fiscal years. In this article, Vector Solutions’ SVP of Content and Communications, Victoria Zambito, shares some of Vector’s top achievements and challenges over the past year, how COVID-19 has changed business, and the secret to the organizations’ growth as one of the fastest-growing companies in the region.
How would you describe what your company does to a friend or family member who may not know?
Vector Solutions is a provider of award-winning, intelligent SaaS solutions that help organizations and individuals operate at the highest level and prepare for more challenging workplaces and environments. Providing industry-focused solutions that connect content and technology, our unique product set includes employee and student training and learning management, continuing education, compliance training, workforce scheduling, safety management, and more.
Our online and mobile learning library features curated world-class content to meet the needs of our clients in the industrial, engineering, education, and public safety industries. Reaching more than 22 thousand clients and 21 million users worldwide, our customers rely on us to help them prepare for the changes that come with new technologies, complex compliance regulations, and more challenging workplaces and environments.
What was the most exciting thing to happen at or to your company last year?
Despite the many challenges of 2020, Vector succeeded in moving our entire company to a remote working environment and continuing on executing our commitment to our customers, bringing them solutions to help them during this difficult time. We also acquired LiveSafe in the fall of 2020, adding more team members to the Vector family and bringing real-time mobile risk prevention, reporting, and response capabilities into the Vector Solutions product portfolio. This past spring, we completed our rebranding initiative, launching a new website and bringing all 20 of our brands under the Vector Solutions name in order to better meet the evolving safety and operational needs of our diverse and specialized customer base.
As one of the fastest-growing companies in the area, what's the secret to your growth?
Vector’s growth is the result of a carefully planned and executed vision and strategy to expand Vector’s value proposition beyond our initial e-learning and online training offerings to become a total performance solution that can help our customers improve outcomes, optimize performance and reduce risk. We wouldn’t be able to do this without the hard work, grit, and dedication of our Vector team members, who didn’t skip a beat despite all of the adversity we faced. Our employees are the backbone of our company, from culture to innovation to customer service, and are the center of our success.
What is your No. 1 priority for the year ahead?
Our No. 1 priority for the year ahead is to continue focusing on our commitment to our customers and communities by delivering intelligent software solutions that empower them to make safer, smarter, better decisions. This means continuing to evolve our capabilities and connect our products in a seamless way that gives our customers real-time information and insights when, where, and how they need it.
How has Covid-19 changed your business?
While Covid has certainly made us pivot and reprioritize some things, the Vector team has remained focused on and dedicated to our business and our customers in all aspects. Our products and solutions helped our customers during this difficult time as the world moved to virtual environments and online training and learning. Tools, like our Vector WorkSafe mobile app, helped keep organizations and people safe by providing streamlined daily employee health and Covid-19 screening. And while our business has continued to grow and strengthen, so too has our company culture and support for our colleagues. After working remotely for so long, we are excited to be back in person with our team members as we transition into a new hybrid work environment, allowing for the flexibility of working from home while also providing the opportunity to collaborate in person and share in the company events and activities that we look forward to as a group. Ensuring the physical and mental well-being of our employees has been a top priority, and we will continue to support and listen to their needs as we emerge from the pandemic.
What are some of the growing pains you have experienced?
One of the areas that Vector focuses on as we continue to grow is how to bring products and services from one vertical we serve into the others, especially as we enter new markets and expand our offerings. We want all of our customers to have access to the full toolbox of our solutions, from learning to workforce management to operational readiness to risk management.
Are you currently hiring? If so, how many positions and what types?
Yes, we are currently hiring, and for various departments from sales to IT to client support. You can view all of our open positions at www.vectorsolutions.com/about-us/careers.
