Students are filling classrooms daily with an increase in unexpected behaviors as educators struggle to manage and intervene effectively. Systemic change is imperative to proactively create systems that ensure the safety and success of students and staff. This webinar will discuss the existing systems and propose a paradigm shift in how to implement behavioral practices that are proactive and consistent for all stakeholders.

Attendees will learn how to create an easy-to-implement, individualized behavior toolbox with research-based strategies and interventions for all tiers within the Multi-tiered System of Support, which includes functions of behavior and SEL skills. Additionally, examples of how to monitor progress for decision-making by leveraging data will be shown.

Learning Objectives

During this webinar, the presenter will:

  • Describe the current state of behavior systems and changes that will decrease unexpected and unsafe behaviors.
  • Develop a toolbox of evidence-based SEL and behavior interventions based on functions of behaviors, student needs and strengths for Tiers 1, 2, and 3.
  • Examine data tools for progress monitoring that best-fit student needs and function of behavior.
