Industry:
Solution:
Managing professional development is a complex job, and how it's done has a significant impact on a school's or district's culture.
At Springs Charter Schools, one of the largest charter school networks in Southern California, school leaders implemented a new way of doing staff evaluations and managing professional development to streamline the process for administrators, provide better feedback for staff members, and create a positive, collaborative workplace culture in which staff members feel respected and supported.
- Replacing annual staff evaluations with a new collaborative system in which evaluations are conducted three times a year created a more positive culture.
- The adoption of a new online PD tracking and evaluation system was key to making the new system a success.
- Process maps and a strategic plan for implementation helped ensure a smooth rollout and a successful initiative that promotes a positive workplace culture.
