Vector Solutions Announces 2022 CPN Seal of Prevention™  Recipients

Vector Solutions recognizes higher education institutions and organizations for exceptional commitment to digital student wellness, safety, and inclusion efforts.

TAMPA, FL, February 23, 2023 – Today, Vector Solutions, the leading provider of software solutions and data insights that elevate higher education institutions’ compliance and prevention strategies, announced the 2022 recipients of its Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention™. Launched in 2020, the CPN Seal of Prevention™ is awarded to institutions and organizations of higher education that have demonstrated a commitment to world-class digital prevention programs tied to student safety, well-being, and inclusion.

The criteria for the CPN Seal of Prevention™ are based on the Principles of Effective Prevention Programs published by Nation, et. al. (2003). Two decades of prevention research and practice helped establish a meaningful quality standard for online prevention programs. Each year, over one thousand colleges, universities, and national organizations are evaluated against evidence-based prevention principles to determine the quality of their digital programming to determine eligibility.

Each recipient of the CPN Seal of Prevention™ has taken action to create a safer, more inclusive campus through comprehensive, evidence-based digital prevention education on issues such as sexual assault, alcohol misuse, mental health, and discrimination. The CPN Seal of Prevention™ recognizes the outstanding digital prevention education efforts of these institutions, and elevates the visibility of these commitments to students and parents as essential to consider during the college search process. Institutions that emphasize wellness, safety, and inclusion see improved student outcomes across the lifecycle – from enrollment and engagement to academic achievement and retention.

Today’s high school seniors rank safety, well-being, and inclusion as important as academic rigor when deciding on a college to attend. In fact, according to research conducted by Vector Solutions, 34% of high school seniors are more likely to attend a college or university that has achieved the CPN Seal of Prevention™. The Seal boosts the visibility of campuses committed to meeting the highest standard of well-being. Through a partnership with Parchment, the world’s leading digital credential service, prospective students and their parents can easily search and identify institutions that have achieved the CPN Seal of Prevention ™ via Parchment’s College Profile Pages and Search Choice Survey. These tools are used by millions of students to learn about campuses and organizations that align with their interests, needs, and values.

Students today are highly passionate about their well-being and experience outside of the classroom. Among current college students, 77% feel it is important that their institution has achieved the CPN Seal of Prevention™. Additionally, recipient institutions, on average, have a 9.5% higher first-year retention rate and 12.5% higher on-time four-year graduation rate compared to those that have not achieved the Seal, thus tying great prevention work directly to recruitment, retention, and long-term institutional success.

The 2022 recipients of the CPN Seal of Prevention™ consist of 482 colleges, universities, and Greek-letter organizations. The profile of Seal-awarded institutions is exceptionally diverse, spanning almost all 50 states and including 23 community and technical colleges, 11 national fraternities and sororities, and the majority of the of the top 50 institutions in the US News & World Report Best Colleges ranking. A full list of the 2022 Seal recipients is available here.

“The CPN Seal of Prevention™ recipients reflect the top 12% of colleges and universities nationwide, highlighting their commitment and investment to not only academics but also the well-being of their students and the overall college experience,” said Jonathan Cherins, CEO at Vector Solutions. “Our team at Vector Solutions is proud to recognize the great value these leading institutions and organizations are providing to students and the commitment we share to making higher education communities safer and more inclusive.”
