As a researcher and course author, Dr. Poole has spent over a decade developing and designing adult learning and staff training programs in both corporate and higher education settings, with a special focus on harassment and discrimination compliance. Earning her PhD from the Department of Social Justice Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto, Dr. Poole draws on her expertise to promote prosocial behavioral change and foster better, safer workplaces.

What are warning signs that someone is misusing alcohol?

Some warning signs of alcohol misuse include drinking more or longer than intended, not being able to cut down or stop drinking, and feeling a strong need or desire to drink.

What is alcohol overdose?

Alcohol overdose (also known as alcohol poisoning) results from drinking too much, too fast. Crucial areas of the brain and body can shut down as a result of alcohol poisoning, leading to coma or even death.

What is BAC?

BAC stands for blood alcohol concentration. It’s a measurement of how much alcohol is absorbed into someone’s bloodstream as a result of drinking.
