BIP Overview (Essentials)

In this abbreviated excerpt from the BIP Overview (Full Course), school staff members will be introduced to Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and how they can help to lessen or eliminate challenging student behavior. Disruptive student behavior is much more than just a frustration for educators. It can disrupt entire classes and even negatively impact school climate. BIPs recognize that disruptive behaviors have antecedents or triggers, and that they can be replaced with more appropriate behaviors. Moreover, teaching pro-social behaviors and reinforcing them with positive behavior supports can dramatically improve school climate.
