Child Abuse: Identification & Intervention

This course provides school personnel with background information on the different types of child abuse/child maltreatment. The multimedia-rich course provides information about child abuse and neglect related to their professional role, related statistical data, descriptions of various types of abuse and neglect, indicators to assist in identifying abuse and neglect, legal responsibilities related to reporting abuse and neglect, suggestions for handling student disclosures of abuse and neglect, examples of the relationship between child abuse, substance abuse, children with disabilities, and animal abuse, and child abuse prevention strategies.
