Digital Citizenship for Administrators

Educational leaders at all levels have a responsibility to help students learn how to function as positive, contributing members of society. This includes online behaviors. Just because their faces are hidden behind a screen doesn’t mean the rules of good citizenship and respect no longer apply. To successfully leverage what the digital world has to offer, schools and districts are beginning to include digital citizenship in the curriculum. This course is designed to explore why administrators need to help staff, and ultimately students, become good digital citizens. Course topics include what it means to be a safe, savvy and social digital citizen; how to empower staff and students to be wise digital consumers; and what it takes to create an effective, lasting digital citizenship program.
