Handling Difficult Conversations in the Classroom

It can be hard to avoid controversial or sensitive topics in the classroom. Whether discussions are spontaneous or planned, it’s a crucial life skill to encourage respectful discourse and ensure that all voices are heard. This course provides the tools and techniques to handle difficult conversations in the classroom and shape them into valuable learning experiences. Topics include: methods for managing emotions, the Four Cs model of curiosity, candor, courtesy and courage, skills for inclusive, productive discourse, as well as supportive in-class activities and assignments.
