No matter where you are in your career, a veteran or first year teacher, with statistics like these, you probably will have one or more ASD students in your classroom or school. This course will provide an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder by covering current statistics, a brief history, and terminology. We’ll illustrate the characteristics of ASD students who is struggling with communication and social interactions and how you can identify this. And finally, we will discuss how ASD impacts a student’s ability to navigate school and common services available within the education system to support ASD students.​
