Presenters

James Borchers, MD, MPH

President and CEO, U.S. Council for Athletes' Health

Dr. James Borchers is the President and CEO of the U.S. Council for Athletes’ Health, as well as the Chief Medical Officer for the Big Ten Conference, physician and Director for the Division of Sports Medicine at the Wexner Medical Center and a Professor of Clinical Family Medicine and Sports Medicine at the OSU College of Medicine. He previously spent 18 years as team physician for the Ohio State Athletics Department, including seven as the head team physician and eighteen working with the football program.

Dr. Borchers played football at Ohio State while earning his undergraduate degree in Chemistry, before going on to earn his MD from Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and his Master of Public Health from Ohio State. He is board certified in both family medicine and sports medicine and has been named one of the region’s top doctors, as well as one of the Best Doctors in America.

Rae Everson, MS, AT, CES, PES

Senior Associate, U.S. Council for Athletes' Health

With experience prioritizing healthcare and performance enhancement techniques for collegiate, professional and Olympic-caliber athletes and programs, Rae came to USCAH in June 2021 and serves as a liaison to clients and partner organizations. She strives to continue moving the needle forward for athlete health and safety by creating and delivering first-class products, services, and educational programming.

A former athletic trainer and instructor at Ohio State and field hockey student-athlete at Delaware, Rae has extensive experience in program management and coordination, diversity, equity, and inclusion work, and policy development.
