Webinar Description

Tuesday, September 1 at 2:00 PM (ET) | 11:00 AM (PT)

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping education, and K-12 schools are under growing pressure to respond thoughtfully and responsibly. As AI tools become more accessible, educators and leaders must develop a shared understanding of how to use them effectively while addressing the challenges they introduce.

Join us for a timely webinar panel, presented in partnership with The Media Education Lab, featuring Dr. Scott Moss, Dr. Wesley Fryer, and Dr. Catharine Reznicek as they explore what AI literacy means for students, educators, and administrators, including its role in classroom practice and school policy.

This session will examine how AI tools can support learning while also raising important questions about bias, authorship, privacy, academic integrity, and fairness. Participants will leave with practical strategies for building a shared AI literacy framework that supports responsible and effective use of emerging technologies in K-12 schools.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Examine what AI literacy means in education and beyond, and how it connects to media literacy and literacy more broadly.
  • Identify key components of AI literacy and explain why they matter for teaching, learning, and school leadership.
  • Evaluate opportunities and risks associated with AI tools, including issues related to ethics, fairness, privacy, bias, and academic integrity.
  • Apply practical strategies for integrating AI literacy into curriculum, professional learning, classroom expectations, and school-wide policy.
