This course covers the 2026 National Electrical Code® (NEC®) updates related to general-use equipment. Participants will explore revised scopes of Articles 404 and 406, updated wiring device termination requirements, and GFCI protection rules for replacement receptacles. The course also addresses new restrictions on upward-facing receptacles, park and recreation area requirements, field marking updates for switchboards, switchgear, and panelboards, circuiting requirements for central heating equipment, and allowances for conductive pavement heating systems. In addition, participants will review key updates to motor and control equipment, including new motor design types in Article 430, field marking requirements for motor control centers, restrictions on GFCIs downstream of adjustable speed drives, and updated listing requirements for medium-voltage switchgear and industrial control assemblies.
