Sample Video Transcript
Although cross traffic intersection crashes may have several different causes, there are strategies you can use to prevent them. As with most crash types, the first step in preventing cross traffic intersection crashes is to always obey all traffic control devices! This includes yield signs, stop signs, flashing yellow or red lights, and the traditional green, yellow, and red stop lights. As you approach an intersection with a yield sign or a flashing yellow light, make sure to scan your environment multiple times. By looking in all directions multiple times, you will limit the chances of a vehicle being in your blind spot and not seeing it. If there is vehicle approaching, and it has the right of way, slow down or stop, and wait until you can safely enter the intersection.
