While electrical injuries account for less than 0.2% of all occupational Lost Time Injuries (LTIs), the low frequency can create a blind spot in managing electrical safety. One in 13 LTIs from exposure to hazardous electrical energy is fatal, making exposure to hazardous electrical energy one of the highest fatality potentials in the workplace.

OSHA regulations and industry standards such as NFPA 70E establish minimum requirements for electrical safety, but how can organizations take the next step and move beyond minimum compliance?

Join subject matter expert, Lanny Floyd, as he shares how his organization built a sustainable, proactive electrical safety program. Through real-world applications and practical insights, Lanny will explore how safety leaders can close gaps and strengthen electrical safety in the workplace.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand serious injury and fatality (SIF) prevention programs and their application to electrical safety
  2. Recognize why hazardous electrical energy poses high SIF potential
  3. Identify common gaps in existing electrical safety programs
  4. Understand the link between NFPA 70E and ASSP/ANSI Z10 Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems
  5. How to apply “A Lens of System Safety” to electrical hazards in your workplace
