Student Mental Health: Prevention and Postvention Strategies that Save Lives

Mental health issues continue to surge on college campuses throughout the U.S., and suicide continues to be a leading cause of death among college-aged individuals. These facts, combined with the ongoing traumas experienced worldwide and on college campuses, highlight the need for proper pre- and postvention crisis planning at higher education institutions.

Crisis planning and prevention, such as providing training to staff and promoting the mental health resources that are available to students, are essential in supporting student well-being. But, postvention strategies with proper resources available to students are just as essential to supporting students when suicide impacts your campus community.

Join Kristen Buglione, MPH, CHES, Senior Program Manager for TimelyCare, for an interactive discussion on inclusive, evidence-based strategies for shaping a culture of care, best practices for coordinating an in-person and virtual well-being support system, and pre-and postvention strategies that save lives.
