CSAP 11b Gift Boundaries: Middle
Child sexual abusers give gifts to youth to create a more intimate relationship and to reward them for their participation, compliance and secrecy. They may also give gifts to parents to entice them into a personal relationship, and create indebtedness. We will look at the way child sexual abusers use tangible and intangible gifts as an integral part of the seductive grooming process to target a small subset of vulnerable students and how policies can interrupt that process.
