Recognizing and Responding to Islamophobia for Students

Islamophobia includes a wide spectrum of harmful ideologies and behaviors that affect individuals and groups alike. As campus community members, we all have a role to play in responding to and preventing Islamophobia behaviors and actions. This course provides students with an overview of practical strategies to recognize and combat harmful behaviors and treatment against Muslims and Arabs in campus settings. Topics include: historical context of harmful behaviors, ways to recognize forms of harm, and practical approaches for addressing harmful behaviors through education, communication, and community building.
