It doesn’t just feel like the wildland season is getting longer and longer each year; it is. Every year, wildfire season starts earlier and ends later, with many parts of the country facing wildfires year-round. There’s no doubt that wildfires can have a devastating impact on communities. And the longer the season, the more vigilant and prepared firefighters and communities must be to minimize damage, injury, and loss. According to the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC), as of April 24, 2024, 1,744,404 acres have burned so far this year.

In recognition of May as National Wildfire Awareness Month, which is dedicated to planning, preparing, and preventing wildland events, Vector Solutions is proud to announce the release of our annual RT-130 refresher series for online wildland fire safety training. This special series consisting of four modules, available on Vector LMS Training Management System (TargetSolutions Edition), explores the fundamentals of wildland firefighting, wildland fire behavior, situational awareness, safety strategies, and more. Included in the modules are discussions of topics recommended for the U.S. National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) Annual Refresher.
