National PTSD Awareness Month: Supporting All First Responders

National PTSD Awareness Month: Supporting All First Responders
Resources

PTSD Awareness Month It is widely recognized that first responders are at greater risk for full or partial posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) than most other occupations due to their regular exposure to traumatic stressors.

For law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS providers, and other public safety professionals, experiencing critical incidents is often unavoidable due to the nature of emergency services. Every day, first responders put their physical and mental health on the line to serve and protect their communities. And the global health crisis brought on by COVID-19 has only increased the traumatic stressors public safety personnel face daily, with known and unknown long-term implications.

In recognition of June as National PTSD Awareness Month, Vector Solutions stands in solidarity with all first responders in the fight to stay emotionally and mentally healthy under the strenuous circumstances of the profession. We are committed to supporting the mental health and overall well-being of all first responders.

The following resources and online courses focus on addressing critical incidents, traumatic stress, and mental health in public safety professionals.
