Solution:
As new generations join they workforce, they are quick to reshape expectations – and law enforcement recruits are no exception. Today’s new recruits bring different expectations about recognition, feedback, and purpose. Our recent webinar, Readiness From Day 1: Training and Retaining the Next Generation of Officers, explores how a strong FTO program lays the foundation for long-term officer readiness, starting on Day 1.
The Session Recap
Hi, I’m Michael Raymond, Sr. Solutions Engineer here at Vector Solutions, and thank you to everyone who joined our webinar, Readiness From Day 1: Training and Retaining the Next Generation of Officers. Today’s session was focused on how today’s new recruits are reshaping the expectations around feedback, recognition, and mentorship, and what that means for field training programs.
My colleague, Anthony Addante talked about the opportunity agencies have to adopt their FTO programs to meet these expectations while still maintaining accountability and consistent standards.
During the webinar, we explored practical strategies for mentoring recruits, providing a more structured and timely feedback, and identifying performance trends early before small issues can become bigger challenges, ultimately leading to bad habits.
We also shared a demo on Frontline’s FTO tracker, highlighting how agencies are using real-time visibility in tools like color-coordinated charts track, to support both trainees and FTOs, improving consistency and overall strengthening their readiness from day one. If you missed the webinar or want to take another look at the strategies and tools we discussed, please be sure to watch the full recording on demand.
