Educational technology leader Elliott Masie’s annual Learning conference (Oct. 22-25) is underway in Orlando, Fla. More than 1,800 training and development professionals are scheduled to attend the event, which includes dozens of engaging sessions hosted by learning luminaries, as well as keynote addresses from high-profile thought leaders from inside and outside the industry and supplier showcases featuring products from respected instructional resource providers.

Keynote speakers
Several well-known figures will deliver keynote addresses during Learning 2017 – most notably, former first lady Michelle Obama, who is scheduled to speak Monday Oct. 23 from 4:45 to 6:15 p.m. Emmy Award-winning actor John Lithgow will discuss storytelling Tuesday Oct. 24 between 9:15 and 11 a.m. Lithgow will also give a presentation of his one-man play “Stories By Hearts” later in the day from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

“Macro-learning to Micro-learning – A Case Study on Transformation”

RedVector’s parent company, Vector Solutions, presented a Monday morning session titled “Macro-learning to Micro-learning – A Case Study on Transformation.” The packed discussion explored challenges and resolutions of adapting eLearning content and tools to meet the evolving demands of mobile-focused learners. The presentation was led by Bobby Person, Senior Director of Product Management at Vector Solutions, and Michael Schreiner, Senior Director of Content at Vector Solutions.

“Nothing improves performance, comprehension and accuracy like the right information being delivered at the right time, in the right length – which is why mobile learning and microlearning are so important,” said Victoria Zambito, SVP of Content and Communication at Vector Solutions.

Learning sessions
A slew of hour-long sessions address many central training and development topics, including content personalization, compliance training strategy and social learning on Monday. The event unfolds similarly Tuesday Oct. 24, as attendees have the opportunity to filter through dozens of valuable workshops. Learning sessions are scheduled to take place between 9 and 10 a.m. Wednesday Oct. 25, the final day of the conference.

Supplier showcase
In addition to learning workshops and keynotes, the conference features supplier showcase sessions during which training and development vendors such as Blackboard, McGraw Hill and Pearson demonstrate their products and services. Vector Solutions is also scheduled to host a supplier showcase.
