RedVector course author and AECOM program manager John Peterson specializes in the design and technical engineering leadership for data centers and mission critical facilities. His experience and responsibilities include all aspects of mission critical systems designs and coordination for a wide variety of data center types and sizes. Mr. Peterson’s background also includes experience in project management, construction management, and leads mission critical technical training of staff. He is also a speaker, technical author and an ASHRAE distinguished lecturer on energy and sustainability techniques for data centers. As one of the leaders of the mission critical business line for AECOM, he tracks and assists the application of high reliability and efficient solutions for government and commercial clients throughout the world.

As the lead design manager for ‘megaprojects’, he has overseen the processes from inception to completion to ensure project success while within budget and deadlines. Mr. Peterson is also experienced with authoring business plans and RFP proposals, presenting cost, risk and reliability scenarios for clients, and making recommendations based on clients’ prioritized needs.
He is a licensed professional engineer, certified energy manager, a registered project management professional with PMI, and a LEED accredited professional, all in good standing. His continued involvement with the many industry leaders has helped to cross boundaries between IT, facilities, sustainability, and reliability.
