Twin Roll Wash Presses

Twin roll wash presses are increasingly replacing vacuum drum style washers in brown stock washing systems due to their compact size, high washing efficiency, and high discharge consistency. Twin roll wash presses are able to achieve high washing efficiencies because the discharge consistency is higher than traditional vacuum drum washers. This leads to reduced carryover of dissolved organics and cooking chemicals to the next process. Wash presses are also quite good at removing entrained air, which can improve the next washing stage in a multistage brown stock washing system. This course covers the design and operation of twin roll wash presses, common issues, and maintenance and troubleshooting best practices.
