As part of the recertification process, Florida Fire Safety Inspectors are required to take eight additional hours of continuing education. This training must be based on the Florida-specific versions of the NFPA 1 Fire Code and the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
To meet these requirements, Vector Solutions developed a course series specific to these codes: NFPA 1 & 101: Modules 1-4. Available through the TargetSolutions system, the series was updated to ensure Florida firefighters are compliant with the most current version of recertification standards.

The Florida Fire Prevention Code (FFPC) is reviewed on an ongoing basis. Every three years, in accordance with Florida State Statute 633.202, the State Fire Marshal adopts the FFPC for enforcement with each review and update.
TargetSolutions’ 4 courses focus on the NFPA 1 and the NFPA 101 Fire and Safety codes for the Florida Certified Fire Inspector 1 and 2. These courses were updated to outline the changes in the 2018 Florida-specific version of these codes.
Each course uses a combination of videos, an onscreen instructor, case studies and statistics to engage personnel. To test individuals’ understanding of new definitions, personnel must complete mid-course knowledge checks and a final exam.
By the end of this series, fire inspectors will be able to complete the following:
