Webinar Description

Wednesday, September 23, at 2:00 PM (ET) | 11:00 AM (PT)

Career readiness shouldn’t start in high school. This session shows how Reading Community City Schools built a K-12 career pathway model, starting in elementary school, to help students discover their strengths, explore careers, and make informed decisions about their future.

K-12 leaders will leave with a framework for designing a vertically aligned interdisciplinary career development system in which every grade level builds on the last instead of standing alone.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will understand how to:

  • Create authentic career exploration experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world opportunities.
  • Align career pathways with curriculum, business partnerships, work-based learning, industry credentials, and postsecondary planning.
  • Expand students’ social capital by connecting them with employers, mentors, and community partners throughout their educational journey.
  • Design a vertically aligned K-12 career pathway framework, from elementary through graduation, that builds student purpose and motivation year over year.
